Author : Foodeva Marsay / @foodeva_marsay
1kg beef (cut into strips)
2 Onions sliced
1 Tablespoon Olive oil and 1Tablespoon of Butter
250ml Fresh Cream
1/2 cup of pepper sauce
1/2 Green Pepper cut into strips
1 punnet mushroom (approx 200g , of any variety)
1 teaspoon lemon pepper spice
1 and 1/2 teaspoon of crushed Garlic paste
1 teaspoon Salt
~ Fry the onions in the oil and butter until light brown
~ add the beef strips to the onions, followed by the garlic paste, lemon pepper spice, and a little of the salt, I have also added at this stage a pinch of Tumeric Powder and a pinch of Cumin Powder( Yeah I know…Sooo Indian, But I just have this idea of always making sure my food has a bit of colour, and I believe tumeric has anti-bacterial properties , here have a read on the following link Health Benefits of Tumeric, so why not right?!, this add-on is very optional). Allow to cook for 10 minutes, do not add any water/liquid.
~ now add in the sliced mushrooms and cook for a further 5 minutes followed by adding the fresh cream and Pepper sauce.
*Find a Pepper Sauce recipe Here .
~ completely switch off the stove, and add in the green peppers; I have used multi-coloured peppers before and is just as good; the heat that’s still in the pot will allow the peppers to soften slightly.
~ Finally, all that’s left to do…is WOW your guests. Serve the Beef Stroganoff with buttered Noodles of choice, I’ve used Spaghetti this time, prepared as per pack instructions.
