We South Africans simply Love a good Braai. There doesn’t have to be an occassion to get the coals fired up;). This is my ‘Go-To’ marinade recipe I use for Lamb Chops/ Ribs OR Beef , perfect to use in Braais/Barbecues , as well as for Oven Grilling .
Add to this Great Company and Perfect Weather, with an array of side dishes, and you have a winner combination.
Marinade For Lamb Chops/Ribs Or Beef
Perfect for Braai or Grilling

Marinate 2kg Lamb Chops/Ribs/Beef with :
~ 2 teaspoon Red Ginger and Garlic Masala
~ 1 teaspoon Salt (OR to taste)
~ 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
~ 2 – 3 teaspoon Chillie Powder
~ 1 teaspoon Lemon Pepper Spice
~ 1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon Powder
~ 1/2 teaspoon Robertsons Mixed Dried Herbs
~ 4 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
~ 2 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
~ 6 Tablespoons Tomato Sauce
~ 3 Tablespoon BBQ Sauce (any brand)
~ 2 Tablespoon Honey/Golden Syrup (OPTIONAL )
Allow the marinade to work it’s magic for 1 or more hours for best results?.
Use any excess marinade to brush onto meats as they are being braaied/grilled.

~ You can marinate the meats and store in the fridge for a day/two before use.
~ You can use regular Ginger and Garlic paste, and also any brands of sauce variety available.
~ for Oven Grilling;
- Preheat Oven to grill setting, Spray a large oven tray with non-stick cooking spray, Add the marinated meats and grill turning a few times until done to your liking.
- dot meats with Butter/Oil just before finishing off grilling.
- you can opt to make a little more of the marinade to use for brushing onto the meats.
