Mango Oatmeal Smoothie

This thick and creamy Mango Oatmeal Smoothie is a perfect summer indulgence.

Been a while since I last posted a blog piece, sorry for being AWOL my friends, but hey I’m back for now from my travels to Bahrain, Dubai and Cape Town.  I must admit though, as much as I love travelling, The long hours on-board an airplane and different time zones, leave me rather tired.  It actually does take me a few days, if not a week, to recuperate from this ‘jet-lag hangover’ feeling.

So whilst I had been feeling under the weather these last couple of days, a stop at the shops yesterday had me reaching for these golden summer yumminess…

Happiness is... SUMMER FRUITS
Happiness is… SUMMER FRUITS

MANGOS are in season now in South Africa and Nothing spells ‘Summer in Africa’, better than having an abundance of Summer fruit available almost everywhere, oh and the SUNSHINE.  I chose Mango, apart from it being one of my favourite summer fruit, it also reminded me of my recent travel to Dubai, and the delicious smoothie I enjoyed at breakfast. Today I share with you, This Mango Oatmeal Smoothie I whipped up for breakfast this morning.  It was perfect to keep my energy levels up, enough to have me click a few pics and do a blog share with you? .

I make use of Ripe Chilled Mangoes, any Fibre-less variety, the milk and yoghurt are also straight out of the fridge, so no need to add ice cubes to this. You will notice I have added Honey to sweeten, but you could use other means of sweetening you prefer. I did also add a tiny dash of cinnamon and turmeric powder, but these are totally optional, and may be omitted completely.  The Quick Cooking Oats, adds a good amount of substance to the smoothie, that keeps you satiated for longer.

DO give this one a go, and chill on these hot summer days.

HAPPY ‘SMOOTHIE BLENDING’ LOVELIES
