If you have been following the National News, or global news, I’m sure you would have come across the devastating news of recent floods in Durban, South Africa. Heavy Rainfalls, primarily as a result of subtropical Storm ‘Issa’, had caused widespread devastation in KwaZulu Natal, on 12th Aprill 2022. Landslides, River and Widespread Floodings had been experienced across this lush green parts of South Africa. The storm left in it’s wake total Devastation and Damages to infrac-structures and the loss of lives, now standing at a toll of over 430 people. As I pen down this post, many families are still reeling from trying to piece together their lives in Durban and KZN, with many still without water or electricity, some 12 days now (at time of post).
I humbly request you all to please keep the people of Durban and KZN in your duas/prayers, as they try rise again from this.
South Africans sure are a resilient nation, and this too we will overcome. Durban is the City I was born and grew up in, and it will FOREVER have my heart. It will forever be HOME, no matter where life takes us. With that in mind, I wanted to showcase a very popular milkshake, a name that had been coined in DURBAN, but here I combine the Bombay Crush Milkshake, together with my family favourite Easy Falooda, to bring you a delicious and refreshing new take on Falooda.

I have previously shared with my readers my Gourmet ‘Bombay Crush’ Milkshake, and you can have a read at all the other ingredients and history behind this milkshake on that post. My Easy Falooda has been a popular one for many years, and that recipe can be found on the link shared.

**PS: South Africans, of Indian Descent, from Durban, refer to Bombay Crush, as a MILKSHAKE, which includes a little ‘falooda’ that is shredded into the Milkshake. And then FALOODA is referred to a set, jelly like dessert, that uses Falooda powder(Agar Agar / China Grass Powder), that is also sometimes, referred to as Ghas. This is not to be confused to the similar terms used by our friends from the Indian Sub-Continents.
