Rose and Strawberry Milkshake Ice Lollies

Growing up within an Extended family household, meant Lots of Happy Times with cousins and siblings.  Ice Lollies are what wonderful childhood memories, one of many, are made of. Most especially these Rose and Strawberry Milkshake Ice Lollies, that are so very ease to make, and with a little bit of patience (just for freezing time), you too could be enjoying these sweet, icy cold delights.

So just before I left Bahrain to head back home, That little sleepy shopper in me decided to purchase some goodies, and generally NOT being a Shopaholic, I tend to lean more towards buying stuff I may need in the Kitchen or Home.  So when my eye caught this particular Ice lollies Mould on SALE, I knew I had to have it. I had already envisioned which ice lollies I would be 1st setting in this dainty looking , mini silicone ice mould.

I love the that this has a hard, durable plastic outer edge, that makes handling and moving the mould so much easier.  The Inner silicone moulds, are of great quality and absolutely no efforts was required during unmoulding.  The ice lollies simply just pops right out, to present the cutest looking mini ice pops.  In South Africa, we are headed into our Summer months, so that means Unbearably hotter days, and with schools coming to the end of term for the year, it means the kids will be out of school soon.

So there is no better time for me to share this, a recipe I use to make a regular ‘old fashioned’ milkshake that we usually have during the Fasting month of Ramadaan.  I have always made what leftover milkshake I’ve had during this time, into ice lollies.  This is made using a Rose Syrup and a Strawberry Flavoured powdered Drink.  I still have 2 bottles of Mullah’s Rose Syrup my beloved Late Mum (Bless her Soul), always packed away for me.  And these were the types of ice lollies my late aunt (Bless her Soul), had always had stocked in her freezer for us Kids way back when… so making these ice lollies, was truly a trip down memory lane for me, fondly reminiscing about my childhood Summer Holidays…“THOSE WERE THE DAYS”  .

    1. Wslm Zarina, It’s a pleasure dear. These types of moulds you can purchase online from Yuppiechef, OR maybe try any china mall home stores. But absolutely any kinds of moulds may be used.
