There is just something so satisfying about making your own Bread Rolls/Buns or just about any type of Breads. And let me not get started on the warm, intoxicating aroma that fills the home during bread baking😍.

Yes there are loads of bread recipes around, but today I share with you My Recipe, hoping it will inspire you to also try your hands at bread making. Dinner Rolls is a must on all dinner tables, be it for dunking into the last bits of Soup or enjoying with a hearty Lamb or Chicken Roast, these rolls are always a winner on my Dinner Table;).

On the onset let me advise you, not to let the length of my recipe writing stop you from attempting this, it’s a very easy recipe, it’s just the resting/rising time that makes up for length here.

So here goes, I do hope you give this a go and looking forward to all your feedback.

Easy Homemade Dinner Rolls
Author : Foodeva Marsay
Makes : 12 small dinner rolls or however many according to shaping;)

Ingredients
1 tablespoon active-dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1/2 cup milk
1 large egg
3 tablespoons Vegetable oil
3 Cups Bread Flour
1 tablespoons Sugar
1 teaspoon Salt

*2 tablespoons extra Vegetable Oil (for dipping fingers when kneading)
*1 tablespoon melted Butter (for Brushing)

Method
● Dissolve the yeast into the warm water and allow to stand until all dissolved.
● In the meantime, whisk together the Milk, Egg and Oil; then add the yeast/water mix to it and whish all together.
● Make a dough with the wet Ingredients and the Sifted dry Ingredients. (Use your hands or Food Processor with a dough hook attachment).
● Knead for about 10 minutes (I used my Hands 💪), dipping fingers in the extra oil, until dough is smooth and springs back when poked.
● Use more flour for dusting surface as you knead.
● Rub oil all over dough and a dish large enough for the doughs’ 1st rising.
● Cover dish with dough well and allow to rise, in a warm place, for 1 hour until double in size.
● After an Hour, top over dough onto work surface dusted with flour, and cut and shape rolls as you would prefer.
☆today I shaped into round, smaller sizes.
● Stack the shaped rolls into an oven- proof dish or tray, I stacked them close to each other today, as I wanted a “rustic” look to the buns when broken apart

● cover again and allow to rise for another 30 minutes.
● Heat oven to 190 degrees Celsius, brush top of rolls/buns with the melted butter (helps with browning the tops and keepa the crust soft) ; and bake for about 15 minutes.
● Remove rolls/buns and lightly brush the tops of rolls/buns again with melted butter.

● Cool well before storing in an airtight container, best enjoyed on the same day or a few days after baking, when stored at room temperature.
Foodeva Marsay Tips
🌟 Add Fennel seeds to dough, and shape in 2 larger rounds to make delicious Naans, brush tops as for recipe and sprinkle with Poppy Seeds/Khus Khus
🌟 for Burger Buns, shape into bigger buns, space out slightly on baking sheet, brush with butter and sprinkle sesame seeds.
🌟 Lastly, and my Fav,shhhh it’s OUR SECRET;), cut down dough rising time, by sticking the dough into an oven, at just 50 degree Celsius for about 30 minutes, ensure the bowl is oven proof and the entire bowl and dough are well covered. (FM)
