Crispy, Flavourful and Light, these Strawberry Pop-Puff Tarts, are dainty little sweet treats to end a lovely meal.
So with little time, on my hands during Ramadaan, This is one Sweet Treat I took time out to make. My Habibi, Imran, does love a sweet nibble after Late night prayers (Taraweeh), and I have been making this type of pastry for years, but shaped differently, This One here, I had to try, inspired after watching a video, I did not follow it as it was, but created a version that we would enjoy. And ENJOY we did.

Strawberry Puff-Pop Tarts
DIY – Strawberry Pop-Puff Tarts

~ Cut Ready Rolled Puff Pastry into Squares
~ Cut out an opening in one square, with a fancy biscuit cutter.
~ Brush on an Egg Wash on the edges of this, and Place onto another Whole Square Pastry cut out.
~ Fill in a little Strawberry Jam, warmed in the microwave, into the cut out hole of the top pastry
~ Seal edges with a fork and Egg Wash tops of pastry
~ Cut off tops of a strawberry and place the strawberry cut side down into the jam centre.
~ Bake in moderate oven until golden in colour.
~ Jam will ooze out while baking, don’t stress, simply top up the centre with warmed jam once pastry is out of the oven.
~ Cool well, and serve with a dusting of Icing Sugar.

* ADD THE STRAWBERRY JAM TO SMOOTH CREAM CHEESE, BEFORE FILLING INTO PASTRY AND TOPPING WITH THE CUT STRAWBERRY.
* TRY A DIFFERENT COMBINATION OF JAM(LIKE AN APRICOT JAM, AND TOP WITH THE MATCHING FRUIT PIECE OF AN APRICOT.
* THIS IDEA CAN BE MADE USING A SWEET SHORTCRUST PASTRY AS WELL.
