There comes such days when you just don’t feeling like being the “masterchef” in the kitchen, and this is when easy, on the spur of the moment recipes like the one I concocted up during this last Sunday lunch,turn out to be a hit. I apologize I don’t have step by step pics, but its pretty easy to follow my recipe, Hope you all give it a try 😉
NB… Any cuts of Beef may be used, just adjust cooking times accordingly ,
Topside Steak with Creamy Mushroom Sauce
(Marriam Sayed)
500g Tenderized Topside steak
2tsp crushed/ground garlic paste
1tsp Robertson mixed herbs
1/2 tsp Robertson Lemon Pepper
1/2 tsp crushed chillies
1/2 tsp Cumin(Jeera) powder
2Tblspn Worcestershire sauce
1Tblsp Lemon Juice
1Tblsp Sweet Chillie Sauce
2Tblsp Tomatoe sauce
~cut steak into large single servings
~marinate with all above ingredients
~heat pan,and add 2Tblsp Lemon flavoured Olive Oil OR just plain olive oil
~place steak into pan and allow to cook n brown nicely on both side, turning once after 10mins
~when cooked on both sides, remove from pan,n place in casserole, let the steaks rest in a warm oven
~now make the creamy mushroom sauce
Creamy Mushroom Sauce(Marriam Sayed):
~in the same pan that steaks were cooked, don’t wash out, just add 1TBLSP Butter, to lift the left-over spices in pan
~add Half a Punnet Mushrooms, sliced thickly(±8 mushooms), to the butter n saute for 1mins until just softening
~to this add 1 n 1/2 TBLSP flour n mix thru quickly, adding 1TBLSP of milk mix well
~quickly add 1/2 cup of fresh cream, season with salt n pepper to taste, mix until lovely creamy thick sauce forms
~serve by Ladling spoonfuls over your steaks, accompanied by a starch n fresh salad… ENJOY (Marriam Sayed)
