For Pure and Natural products, that restore your Skins Health and Vitality, switch to Himalaya Herbals, I just did.
Skincare is a very important part of, I’m sure not just my personal routine, but many of my readers daily routine as well. The skin on our faces are the most sensitive and thus require some extra tender care. If like myself, battling with a relentless hormone imbalance, you tend to break out with unsightly acne/pimples, or you have a teenager who also has acne issues, then this product is just for you.
Founded way back in 1930, Age old techniques and knowledge of Ayurveda has been implemented in defining their products from the rest, sourcing herbs directly from the mighty Himalayas.
I discovered this product about 1 and half years back, whilst living in Bahrain. I’ve used this brand ever since, even after getting back to South Africa. With my combination skin type, my breakouts tend to localise on my chin or forehead regions. I would not have been so sure about using this, until after I returned back to South Africa, I had a lapse in being able to get the product I had used in Bahrain. And that’s when the horrid acne and scars re-appeared, and left me feeling down. After finally being able to source out the products I wanted, I have vowed never to let my supply run so low that I may be faced with that situation again ?. So Here is my review on these products I am currently using.
Himalaya Herbals Purifying Neem Face Wash
This product is presented in a clear squeeze type of plastic tube, with a light green artwork depicting the star of it’s product, neem leaves. Neem has many wonderful benefits and having this extract in a face wash, is brilliant. Neem has Anti-Bacterial properties, that helps with controlling further breakouts, as well as helping with scars left behind. This face wash also has added Turmeric to it, which adds it’s benefits of being an anti-inflammatory and a strong anti-oxidant. Both of these that also help ease any further breakouts.
The face wash is a thickish pale green, Soap-free gel, that has a mild ‘neem’ fragrance, that doesn’t last very long on your skin. I use this face wash twice a day, mornings and evenings, and have not experienced any drying out feeling to my skin. Available at some large retails, like Clicks/Checkers and I am sure at some pharmacies too, the 150ml size is perfect to get you through a whole month and then some, and reasonably priced at +/- R60 a tube.
Himalaya Herbals Clear Complexion Whitening Face Scrub
Now back in Bahrain, I had started off using this range in a face wash . Now that I have changed to the Neem Facewash, I still make use of this range but now the Face Scrub. The 2 main ingredients of this product is Licorice and White Dammer. Licorice root has been used for centuries for its medicinal benefits. In this face scrub Liquorice and White Dammer brings along anti-bacterial properties, and a regulation of Melanin synthesis. The fine granules that add a gentle scrub, is from Apricot.
This creamy base scrub, is perfect to gently exfoliate dead skin cells, without drying out your skin. You will notice a soft, clean result with a natural glow with repeated uses. Also Available in a 150ml, white opaque plastic tube, and yet again Priced around +/- R60, this product is well worth every cent paid.
I personally make use of the Face Scrub twice a week, one being during the weekend. Those are the times I won’t use the regular Neem face wash but just the face scrub. So together with being sufficiently hydrated, which is very important for skincare, and with regular use of these, Ayurvedic/Herbal based products, I am a lot more confident to step out with my healthier and glowing skin.
