Homemade Olive Bread Rolls

These Homemade Olive Bread Rolls, are easy to make, bursting with flavour and delicious.

Somedays all a lady needs is baked bread.  Now who doesn’t love freshly baked bread!  This recipe is my go to recipe, for a no-fuss, small batch, easy to handle yeast dough recipe, that I return to most often.  One of my family favourite version, using this yeast dough recipe, is making these Olive Bread Rolls.

Looking for an easy yeast dough recipe?  Then this here is the one for you too.  It’s perfect for beginners, as you get used to handling and working with yeast doughs.  But hey, that doesn’t mean it can’t be used by old kitchen hands too.  The smaller batch makes for easier and quicker bakes.

These Olive Bread Rolls turn out soft and fluffy on the inside, with a little crisp on top.  The addition of olives adds a flavourful depth to this rustic rolls.  I tend to make them into mini versions, for a little side dinner roll or to accompany a soup.  This batch size is perfect for that.

Habibi and I recently holidayed in Europe, and whilst in Italy we were amazed at all the olive trees we saw along the way.  Most especially in the Tuscan region of Italy, be it driving down the coastal regions or further into the countryside.  Olive trees in some places seemed to be growing wild.  How fortunate must they be when it’s harvest time.  I think the olives I ate in italy, has been some of the best I’ve ever had.  YUMMMM, I’m drooling at just the thought of them as I type this blog post.

Olive Tree in Italy

Did you know : Italy is currently placed  2nd on the list of  countries with the most olive productions.  Incredible.

Being Muslim, Olive also plays a huge part in our lives.  Facts about olives having being passed down generations, and learnt at Islamic Madressas.

Did You Know: Olive and Olive trees have been mentioned in the Quran and Hadith.  Olives, among a few others, are said to be a fruit/food from heaven.  There are numerous health benefits for the body, skin, hair, are just few I mention, that have been attributed to the use of olive or olive oil.  So that is more the reason I would be adding olives to our diet, even if it’s added to bread.

If this has you intrigued enough, then head over and check out this VIDEO (a step by step tutorial) on how to go about making this olive bread rolls.  You can also find the fully written version of the recipe below, for you to save/share.  I look forward to hearing your feedbacks, either in comments below or via any of my social media platforms.

~ This Recipe can be easily Doubled for a bigger batch.
~ You may use a food processor, if you wish, instead of your hands.
~ The olives may be added when making up the dough, before letting it rise, if you feel comfortable with that way.
~ The Nigella Seeds (kulonji seeds are optional, you may omit or add any other seeds, this also applies for sprinkling on top of rolls before baking.
